Pig Tracking Equipment

pig tracking equipmentPig Tracking Equipment plays an essential role in an operator’s pigging activities. Knowing where the pig is and finding it if it gets stuck can save the user costly down time and frustration. Drinkwater Products keeps a wide range of tracking equipment for rental or purchase and has the hands-on experience to help you with product selection and tracking strategy.

Multi-Frequency TRAXALL Transmitter

ATEX pig tracking transmitters are available! The X400 transmitter family are CDI's largest TRAXALL compatible electromagnetic transmitters. This family consists of four transmitters which house 2, 3, 4 or 5 D-Cell batteries. These transmitters have both user-adjustable frequency and output power through the use of CDI's FieldLink wireless communications system. Using CDI's TRAXALL transmitters, an operator may have direct control over battery life vs. strength tradeoffs. Short pig runs can go for maximum power and long pig runs can be more conservative with pulsing modes and/or reduced power.

Multi-Frequency TRAXALL Transmitter

The X300 transmitter family are CDI's mid-sized TRAXALL compatible electromagnetic transmitters. This family consists of four transmitters which house 2, 3, 4 or 5 C-Cell batteries.

The X200 transmitter family are CDI's small-sized TRAXALL compatible electromagnetic transmitters. This family consists of two transmitters which house either 2 or 3 AA-Cell batteries.

The X100 transmitter family are CDI's smallest TRAXALL compatibleelectromagnetic transmitters. This family consists of five transmitters which house 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 N-Cell batteries. The X100-1N is by far the smallest pig tracking transmitter in the world.

The CD42-T0 is a durable stainless steel transmitter manufactured to exacting tolerances by CDI. It can be mounted in or on almost any type of pipeline pig and is recommended for pipeline diameters from 6" to 12". This transmitter is guaranteed to operate for a minimum of 168 hours on 6 N-Cell batteries. Programmable DELAY ON feature can be set for as long as 1 full year. Subsequent transmission can then run for as long as one year.

The CD42-T1A is a durable stainless steel transmitter manufactured to exacting tolerances by CDI. It can be mounted in or on almost any type of pipeline pig and is recommended for pipeline diameters from 8" to 28".

The CD42-T3 is the slimmest transmitter in the industry, measuring in at 6.3" long and only 0.875" in diameter. Weight is a mere 13 ounces! Designed to fit inside the smallest 2 and 8 inch pipeline pigs, the CD42-T3's rugged stainless steel housing is compatible with hyrdrocarbons, ammonia and most cleaning chemicals found in pipelines.

The CD42-T4 stainless steel transmitter is a shortened version of our slim CD42-T3 transmitter. This short and stocky transmitter with a knurled screw-off cap is targeted at small diameter pipelines with tight radius bends as well as customers that use spherical pigs in small lines. The CD42-T4 transmitter may be ordered with or without a flange kit as shown. Operating pressure is rated at 2,500 PSI [172 bar] with a standard battery life of 200 hours that may be extended by slowing the transmission pulse rate. Custom transmission patterns are programmed at the time of manufacture.

Line Pipe Size: 2" - 4". Max Pick Up Range: 15' - 20' (free air)

The Spy Pig Tracker is an electronic pig locating system that will locate your pigs wherever they go - through gathering lines, mainline transmission lines, municipal gas, water and waste water lines, refinery and other industrial piping.

Line Pipe Size: 2" - 8". Max Pick Up Range: 20' - 25' (free air)

The Spy Pig Tracker is an electronic pig locating system that will locate your pigs wherever they go - through gathering lines, mainline transmission lines, municipal gas, water and waste water lines, refinery and other industrial piping.

Line Pipe Size: 6" and up. Max Pick Up Range: 60' - 70' (free air)

The Spy Pig Tracker is an electronic pig locating system that will locate your pigs wherever they go - through gathering lines, mainline transmission lines, municipal gas, water and waste water lines, refinery and other industrial piping.

The Spy Pig Tracker is an electronic pig locating system that will locate your pigs wherever they go - through gathering lines, mainline transmission lines, municipal gas, water and waste water lines, refinery and other industrial piping. Using strong, low frequency signals the Pig Tracker system gives you a more reliable signal life. Depending on the model, the Pig Tracker's signal can be received for up to 500 hours. It operates on standard batteries - readily available from retail stores. No recharger is necessary. The Pig Tracker system consists of a cylindrical transmitter which travels with the pig, and a hand-held pick up wand and receiver that receive the signals and inform the operator of the transmitter / pigs location.

With TRAXALL 620 can track each of up to three transmitter frequencies are represented as scrolling rows of LEDs. This intuitive user interface means that the TRAXALL 620 receiver requires very little training and support, lowering the total cost of ownership of the system.

TRAXALL is CDI's major advance in state-of-the-art pipeline pig location and tracking. Building upon 20 years of tracking know-how and our sophisticated new Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology, the 770 tracks as many as 7 different transmitter frequencies simultaneously with a unique color assignment for each on the bright, wide temperature display.

To locate a pig equipped with a SPY® Transmitter, the SPY® PTR (Pig Tracker Receiver and Wand) registers the changing magnetic field produced by the SPY® Transmitter. When the Transmitter is located, the PTR produces both an audio and visual output. With two standard 9-volt alkaline batteries, the PTR can be powered continuously for approximately 50 hours. Special wands are available for sub-sea applications, with depths of up to 10,000 feet [3000 meters].

CDI’s TRAXALL LineStat is a global, value added satellite based event notification service provided by CDI and targeted primarily to the oil and gas pipeline industry. LineStat provides notification to email addresses and SMS text messaging telephone numbers of remote events from both fixed position and portable equipment. Some of the details included in event notifications messages are date, time, GPS position, battery status, and vibration. This information is transmitted via satellite without use of cellular networks and without needing a wired infrastructure of any kind.

The CD42-STS allows for subsea tracking of moving pigs and locating stationary or stuck pigs equipped with CDI's standard line of electromagnetic transmitters. The CD42-STS diver and ROV tracking system does not use radioactive isotopes.
