Multi-Frequency TRAXALL Transmitter

The X100 transmitter family are CDI's smallest TRAXALL compatibleelectromagnetic transmitters. This family consists of five transmitters which house 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 N-Cell batteries. The X100-1N is by far the smallest pig tracking transmitter in the world. These transmitters have both user-adjustable frequency and output power through the use of CDI's FieldLink wireless communications system. Using CDI's TRAXALL transmitters, an operator may have direct control over battery life vs. strength tradeoffs. Short pig runs can go for maximum power and long pig runs can be more conservative with pulsing modes and/or reduced power.

Frequency Control

Frequency control of the X100 family allows an operator to configure these transmitters to one of TRAXALL's 7 colorized frequencies, or optionally use the industry standard 22Hz legacy frequency. 22Hz mode provides full backward compatibility with CDI's CD42 receiver (and competitive receivers as well).

Power Control

Power control of the X100 transmitters allows the operator to directly manage the tradeoff between range of the transmitter versus its battery life. For short runs the output power (transmitter strength) can be set to maximum at the expense of battery life, and for long runs the same transmitter could have its output power reduced to achieve extraordinary battery life. Power may be varied easily and wirelessly using CDI's FieldLink Configurator program.

FieldLink is CDI's proprietary wireless communications network. Each X100 family transmitter comes with a built-in radio frequency antenna (pictured above). TRAXALL is CDI's major advance in state-of-the-art pipeline pig location and tracking. Building upon 20 years of tracking know-how and our sophisticated new Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology, the 770 tracks as many as 7 different transmitter frequencies simultaneously with a unique color assignment for each on the bright, wide temperature display. CDI’s new Pinpointer user interface technology allows for easy pig location to within inches without the need for tricky nulling procedures.

With TRAXALL 620 can track each of up to three transmitter frequencies are represented as scrolling rows of LEDs. This intuitive user interface means that the TRAXALL 620 receiver requires very little training and support, lowering the total cost of ownership of the system.

CDI’s TRAXALL LineStat is a global, value added satellite based event notification service provided by CDI and targeted primarily to the oil and gas pipeline industry. LineStat provides notification to email addresses and SMS text messaging telephone numbers of remote events from both fixed position and portable equipment. Some of the details included in event notifications messages are date, time, GPS position, battery status, and vibration. This information is transmitted via satellite without use of cellular networks and without needing a wired infrastructure of any kind.The LineStat service and equipment may be purchased or rented and used with CDI's pig location and tracking products or any other equipment where remote notifications without an infrastructure is desirable. LineStat can be used with almost any equipment with a signalling output.

As event notification messages from field equipment pass through the LineStat Data Center they are permanently stored in CDI’s secure SQL database on a per-radio and per-customer basis. As jobs are performed, data accumulates from remote equipment and creates Google Maps fly-over interfaces

The Enduro Geophone detects pig movement by sound amplification of normal noises created by pig passage. The unit can be placed on the ground or attached to exposed piping such as valve settings, vent pipes, etc…

The CD42-T0 is a durable stainless steel transmitter manufactured to exacting tolerances by CDI. It can be mounted in or on almost any type of pipeline pig and is recommended for pipeline diameters from 6" to 12". This transmitter is guaranteed to operate for a minimum of 168 hours on 6 N-Cell batteries. Programmable DELAY ON feature can be set for as long as 1 full year. Subsequent transmission can then run for as long as one year.

The tiny computer in the CD42-T0 allows you to easily switch between three stock transmission patterns.  If you're tracking a train of pigs the transmitter can be programmed to create any number of unique and easily identifiable patterns.

The CD42-T3 is the slimmest transmitter in the industry, measuring in at 6.3" long and only 0.875" in diameter. Weight is a mere 13 ounces! Designed to fit inside the smallest 2 and 8 inch pipeline pigs, the CD42-T3's rugged stainless steel housing is compatible with hyrdrocarbons, ammonia and most cleaning chemicals found in pipelines.

Operating pressure is rated at 2,500 PSI [172 bar] with a standard battery life of 110 hours that may be extended by slowing the transmission pulse rate.

PT 750 Universal Mount Simplifies InstallationsPT 750 Universal Mount Simplifies Installations

The PT 750 universal mount allows you to fit a SPY® PT-750 to most any mandrel-pig bolt circle. As of today, there is no industry standard for the “bolt circles” on mandrel pigs. This can require costly last minute field modifications – wasting valuable time. The universal transmitter mount solves this problem. The mount securely clamps to the midsection of the SPY® PT-750 transmitter. Four sliding adjustments with four bolts enable the transmitter to be fastened securely to most any mandrel-pig design in a matter of minutes. The adapter is reusable.

To locate a pig equipped with a SPY® Transmitter, the SPY® PTR (Pig Tracker Receiver and Wand) registers the changing magnetic field produced by the SPY® Transmitter. When the Transmitter is located, the PTR produces both an audio and visual output. With two standard 9-volt alkaline batteries, the PTR can be powered continuously for approximately 50 hours. Special wands are available for sub-sea applications, with depths of up to 10,000 feet [3000 meters].
