Sized for pipelines from 2 inches through 14 inches, the D-500 threaded closure provides access to pressurized pipelines and vessels in three configurations – hingeless, vertical hinge, and horizontal hinge – for fast, easy, and safe operation. The simple design of the D-500 threaded closure makes it reliable yet economical.

Best used for: smaller diameters, such as inline inspection (ILI) pull-through nozzles on pig traps

Available in sizes 4 inches and up, the D-2000 quick opening closure features an easy-to-operate clamp ring that can be opened or closed quickly by a single operator. Available in both horizontal and vertical configurations, the D-2000 quick opening closure design allows operators to be safely positioned to the side of the closure during opening or closing.

The D-2000 quick opening closure is customizable to specific design codes, pressure ratings, material requirements, and installation conditions.

Safety is a paramount in today's industry and our Sentry™ closure not only provides speed of operation, but also the benefit of integral safety features that prevent unsafe operation.

With over 65 years of manufacturing and reliable field service experience, our Yale closures have become the industry leader. With the original Figure 500 closure, Yale was first to develop the inherent safety and operating ease of a threaded closure.

We extended our line of field-proven pipeline and vessel closures with our YaleTM SafeClamp closure. Featuring a patent pending, innovative external clamp ring design, our YaleTM SafeClamp closure features notable safety, sealing, and operational advantages that provide significant benefits to the operator.

Our YaleTM Y-2000 is designed for line applications, currently 6" through 16", where a simple clamp operation offers an alternative to traditional threaded closures.

Drinkwater Products sizing rings are built from lightweight, durable aluminum. The inside diameter is machined to a specified size to allow the operator to easily check and reproduce the proper inflation sizing of pipeline and prover spheres for use.

At the time of an order, the customer will need to furnish the nominal pipe inside diameter and percentage interference. For example a 8" Standard Wall Pipe = 7.981” ID, with a 3% interference, yields a desired sizing ring diameter of 8.22”. Or, if the actual internal diameter of the ring is known, the finished part can be cut to the specified size.

Sizing rings are available for the full range of inflatable spheres.

Drinkwater Products cups and discs are made of the highest quality materials for maximum abrasion resistance, elongation, sheer strength and chemical resistance to assure the best performance under the largest variety of pipeline conditions. Center-hole and bolt-circle dimensions can be customized to fit any pig body on the market, making them the ideal replacement cups and discs. Our cups and discs are designed to maintain a positive seal while also supporting the pig body. Multiple durometers are also available for specific applications. Cups and discs can be made out of urethane, neoprene and nitrile. The cups and discs are available in a full range of diameters up to 56".

Brushes are used for cleaning the interior of the pipeline where wax, sand, paraffin, sludge, mud, millscale or debris are present. Drinkwater Products provides a full assortment of brushes to fit steel-mandrel and solid-cast pigs. Brushes are generally carbon steel flat wire. Stainless steel and prostran are available upon request.

Urethane blades provide the tough scraping action necessary to remove soft internal deposits.

Gauging plates are used for checking out-of-round pipes, dents or anomalies in the line. The most common material used is aluminum but steel is also available. For added information, slots can be cut into the plate to allow for better knowledge of the damaged area. Gauge plates can be made to any requested OD and to fit any steel body bolt hole circle pattern.

Magnets are often mounted on the body of the pig to pick up any metallic debris that might be in the pipeline. Drinkwater Products offers several varieties of magnets that can be fitted to most pigs.

Pipeline Closures from Drinkwater Products

Pipeline closures are of crucial importance in pipeline pigging. A pipeline closure must be opened up to provide access to pig trap during launch and recovery operations. Opening the pipeline closure during insertion or removal of a pig, presents a risk of gas and air mixing and resulting in an explosion. As suppliers of pipe pigs, Drinkwater Products aim to provide clients with pipeline closures that are designed to save time and improve operational safety during opening and closure of a vessel.

Pipeline closures require regular cleaning and maintenance, including greasing the hinges, sealing surfaces and O-rings in order to ensure smooth and effective operation over years of service.

Pipeline Closures from Drinkwater Products
